I am a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in the untamed urban landscape of British Columbia Canada in 1977.
Vancouver was a scrappy and gangly creature and this shaped my formative years.
My environment encouraged self-discovery and industriousness.
When I was about four years old we moved to the Fraser Valley and the creasote-scented steel and wood-paneled walls of my formative years were replaced with sun-baked asphalt and tree sap-scented air.Vancouver remained a place of past and future memories.
I took many dozy summer car rides home from playing in sun-warmed sand and being dazzled by art in the sparkling water beneath the enormous crab sculpture at the Vancouver Museum and H.R. Mac-Millan Space Center.
I would later move to Vancouver and run a not-for-profit arts organization and produce events with live music and theatrical performances, including Marta Marta Hop, Little Woo, Mind of a Snail Shadow Puppetry, and live performances of The Mondo Spider by Johnathan Tippet and music by many local DJ's and The Carnival Band.
This allowed me to use my foundation as an artist to create unique installations for these performance events.
Painting on fabric and even faces to transport the performer and the audience.
When I had my son in 2012 I did not engage as much in the grassroots, community art initiatives in favor of nurturing my growing son. I created art in the quiet moments and now a young man of 12 he has taken up the torch and expresses himself creatively.
I am a self-taught artist working in color pencil, acrylic paint, occasionally watercolor, and digital mediums.
I use Krita for 2D illustration and I am learning animation in Blender.
I am available for Freelance Illustration and commissions living near my family on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia with my son.
